Year after year, Giuliano Sangiorgi pursued his musical career as a guitar player and ended up being a prominent songwriter and singer. This conversion led him to form the band Negramaro in 2000. The name of the band was chosen from one of the native grapes in southern Italy from where the band originated.

In 2003, Negramaro released their self-produced debut album, "Negramaro," before they signed a major record contract with SugarMusic. One year later, they hired the producer Corrado Rustici, who has worked with Eric Clapton, Sinead O'Connor and Andrea Bocelli, to revamp the 1st CD in a better recording facility. The result was their official debut album entitled "000577."

On March 4th, 2005, their latest album, "Mentre Tutto Scorre," was born and also produced by Corrado Rustici. This album is a huge success and has pushed them to stardom not only in Italy but also in Europe. The album has already gone multi-platinum in Italy and is still in the top 20 of the Italian music charts after its release almost one year ago.

Giuliano has also written a song that was sung and recorded by Andrea Bocelli on his latest album, "Andrea." The Band, which has recently garnered the Best Italian Act award at MTV Europe Music Awards, is currently on Winter Live Tour in Italy.

In February, 2006, two prestigious awards were won by Negramaro. The group was candidates for BEST SONG and BEST MUSIC at the Italian NASTRI D'ARGENTO (Silver Ribbons), the Italian Oscars, and they won both prizes. The winter tour is playing sold-out shows all over Italy and there are plans for translations in foreign languages.

Sangiorgi and Mariano are from the town of Copertino, Carla and Spedicato are from Veglie, De Rocco is from Casarano, and Tasco is from Salve.
